WASHINGTON STATE PARKS
Noon Thursday thru Saturday, 2:00 PM Sunday
Learn all the ins and outs of the Washington's State Parks system, where you can discover the
natural beauty of sandy ocean beaches, sheltered Puget Sound islands and old-growth forests
and desert and Columbia River Gorge landscapes. Washington's 120 state parks and other
recreation areas offer opportunities for enjoyment and learning. Take a break for camping,
hiking, biking, boating, windsurfing or rock climbing. In winter, venture out for cross-
country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Learn about the state's rich natural, cultural
and historical treasures by visiting interpretive centers and special historic places.
There's something for everyone in your Washington state parks. Seminar sessions will
include: Volunteering in Washington State Parks, Knowing your Environment and Park
Safety Tips.
SNOWBIRDING: WHAT IS IT?

Snowbirds, or those who take their RV and travel south to warmer climate zones, are growing
in number. Join Linda Balzan with Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona, as
she defines snowbirding, in terms of the excitement, the fun, and the realities and provides
a highly informative and objective "look see" at what snowbirding is all about. Linda reviews
the "snowbird lifestyle" in the context of travelers knowing what’s important to them in their
traveling jaunts, the pitfalls to watch out for that could make your experience less than
satisfactory, and tips on resources to use in making your snowbirding a positive experience;
plenty of time for questions in this informal and fun session.
